We are a women's health, OB/GYN practice in Monterey, CA, and our goal is not to just provide obstetrical and gynecological care, but also to create a phenomenal life for you! Often, we are the only physicians many women see, and so we would like to serve as a hub for you to access other medical professionals and to take care of you for all of your gynecological needs.

LAiMA is a result of frustration, desire and hope.

We have experienced first hand as parents, as clinicians, as staff at the medical offices and hospitals what is great and not so great about the way one must agree to be pregnant today. We have seen and have been frustrated as parents and patients, discouraged as clinicians and dissatisfied as staff working at the “best” institutions and most prestigious practices. We saw that while pieces of the puzzle of prenatal care are being addressed, the whole remains confusing, disjoined and brings anxiety rather then joy.
After all we asked a question: “ What if there was a company that simply existed for a sole purpose of Creating a Phenomenal Pregnancy Experience”? What if it placed mom and her family at the center and used all the available current medical knowledge in combination with traditional and non-traditional practices, while making it personalized, enthusiastic, and safe?
What we truly wanted was “LAiMA”
LAiMA is a name of a Baltic goddess - a patron of pregnant women and their children and a goddess of luck. The concept and the name perfectly reflected what we knew we wanted to see in our own lives as parents and in the lives of our patients as pregnancy professionals. We wanted a place and people that, like a goddess of pregnancy, carries mother and her family through pregnancy and with a little bit of luck makes it a phenomenal experience.
LAiMA pregnancy is a result of experience, research, patient’s involvement, and our personal journey. From thousands of delivered babies, to Big Sur monastery outings, academic research all lead us to a simple conclusion:
Phenomenal Pregnancy experience CAN be created. It starts by addressing the needs of the expecting mom and her family rather then by starting with our expectations or guidelines.

OUR TEAM
Dr. Vladimir Leibovsky
Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Vlad received his initial undergraduate training at Russian State Medical University, Moscow, Russia. He continued his training in Biology/Pre-Med and Master of Arts degree from Oral Roberts University, OK. He holds Doctoral degree from Oklahoma State University, followed by internship at Geisinger Medical Center, PA and Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at University of Medicine of NJ.
Dr. Leibovsky’s special interests include high risk obstetrics, office gynecology, osteopathic non-medicinal interventions in pregnancy and psychological adaptations to pregnancy. His current professional focus is development of reproducible methodological systems in creating outstanding pregnancy experiences.
Dr. Leibovsky is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Maria V. Leibovsky
CNM MS
Maria received her initial undergraduate training from Russian State Medical University, Moscow, Russia. She continued her education at Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, OK with Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Master of Science degree in Midwifery from Stony Brook University, NY.
Maria works with women from all ages, specifically providing care for many of our peri-menopausal/menopausal patients; She is also running LAiMA “Meet the Midwife - Introduction to Womanhood” program for teenagers.
Maria’s professional midwifery interests focus on development of seamless incorporation of current medical recommendations and guidelines in the Pregnancy Experience Flow of the LAiMA methodology of prenatal care.
